Rogelio ortiz
My name is Rogelio Ortiz, I was born in and raised in New York City (Manhattan's Upper West Side), for over thirty years.
My wife, my five children and I moved to Pennsylvania in 1999. Shorty after arriving in Bethlehem I began to attend Northampton Community College, where I was able to take the state exam to become a Real Estate Agent.
Since moving to Bethlehem I have always involve myself in my community mostly sports with under-privileged children, who don't have two parents at home. I also was part of PAL ( Police Athletic League).
My wife and I also took an interest in volunteered in our children's schools; such as Freemansburg Elementary School. At Freemansburg I took an active role in such after school programs as: Boy Scouts and Basketball. I also have coached South Side Little League for six years.
Currently I am the president of the Lynnfield Tenant Council and Community Center. The programs held at the Community Center are: Homework Club (that involves Reading, Math, Science, Social Studies, and Writing). Last year I organized a youth Baseball training program for children of all ages and of both gender at the Roberto Clemente Field. The field is located next to our Community Center. Members of our community help to maintain the baseball fields for our program.
We (The Community Center) recently gave over 100 children gifts for Christmas and threw a party, which had an attendance of about 150 people. It was the first time in the history of Lynnfield of such a program.
